Technician, you've probably run across an
obsolete ceiling mount Red T air handler that
must be replaced. You've probably even
replaced one. If so, you know how difficult the
job is. However, until now, you've had no
other choice.

What Happened to the Red T Air Handler?

Red T Coil was the leading independent
manufacturer of fan coil units and evaporator coils.
In the 80s the Red T Coil Air Handler was wildly
popular, especially in the multi-housing industry,
because it was economical as well as a practical
quality product. In 1984 Red T Coil was acquired by
Coleman Heating and Air conditioning, and shortly
thereafter the replacements of the Ceiling Mount
Red T Coil Air Handler were no longer
manufactured. After the Red T Coil Air Handler
became obsolete, HVAC/R Technicians had no
choice but to replace the entire air handling system
with another brand air handler. Let's just say...it
didn't quite match up and therefore the "Red T
Conversion" is one of the most difficult, labor
intensive replacements in the industry.

What We've Done

Our parent company, All About Air, LLC is a full
service HVAC company. The founder of All About
Air, also an HVAC/R Service Technician, thought
there had to be a better way. He found one in
manufacturing a direct replacement for the ceiling
mount Red T Coil Air Handler. He redesigned the old
coil, which had a strainer distributor, and now has a
built in flow rater. These replacement coils are 13
SEER right out of the box, no TXV Valve installation
necessary.
